Between cork oaks and wheat fields, the house is a single line of rooms facing south. Its back is turned to the north wind; its front opens to a veranda as long as the house itself.

Built from the landscape

Expanded cork insulation from a mill forty kilometres away wraps the timber frame. The larch cladding will silver within three summers, until the house is the colour of the dry grass around it.

Construction began in early 2025. The family plans to move in for the harvest of 2026.
